G, our tutor, has a lazy eye like me.

We had a super discussion our perception and perspectives. I’ve learned that instead of when we have to catch a ball or pour water, Amblyopy is a force to see and understand perspective. Because we can see everything in focus.

G is the best teacher you can have. Other than knowing a lot of things and having beautiful tattoos, G is an open and available person, strict when needed and very funny when in a good mood. G has a big passion for the teaching materials and manages to transmit it perfectly to the students, loved like children. If you have potential G will follow you like a guard dog, completely trusting your ability to reveal yourself. Breathing on your neck, but behind the mask of a strict teacher there is an extremely empathic person, with an inate ability to get people and what is going through their minds. It’s hard not to get attached.

With a didactical approach so lively and spontaneous, G knows how to transmit and infuse the love for art and especially for figure in a fully immersive way. The biggest strength is in the ability to recognise strengths and weaknesses of the students and encourage them to overcome them without creating frustration. Helping them at the same time to find the expressive method more attuned to their own attitudes and beings.

G is one of the few people I know that managed to make the passion for art and teaching a job and that makes everything possible and the time together flows harmoniously and with a very unique balance. G is a great artist, with solid foundations given value through passion and mental openness towards everything that is new in terms of artistic expression.

G approach to teaching is immersive and stimulating, personalised and never expected.

G’s goal is to put every student in the condition, regardless of age, level and skill, to find their own expressive form and this is thanks to an investment in sperimentation and constructive support into finding the expressive message of every person. If I had to use one term to define this way of teaching I’d call it an avanguarde maieutic.

The adjectives that come to my mind thinking about G caress’s way of teaching are essential and effective. Essential because the theoretical expositions are comprehensive but agile and the practical demos are straight to the point. Effective because what you learn this way becomes and invisible tool box ready for use to master subjects, materials, different techniques and find your own style. Everything always with a light heart and a pinch of humor.
